LESSON 4
THE SILENT PARTNER
Mark 6:7–“And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two;. . .”
The individual designated as the Silent Partner has several very key responsibilities.
Silence does not indicate one should be inactive nor does it indicate a lack of importance.
1. Be an active, yet non-vocal, part of the conversation.
a. Look at the individual speaking, not nonchalantly around the room.
b. Remain interested and aware of the conversation so that, if necessary, you can take over.
2. Allow the Soul-winner the closest seat or position for ease of conversation and attention.
3. Be the Soul-winner’s assistant.
a. Help with any personal need they may have.
b. Don’t break the concentration or interrupt
4. Run interference for the Soul-winner.
a. Politely prevent or handle disruptive forces (i.e. crying babies, spoiled pets, ringing telephones, disinterested children, etc.)
b. Stay alert for the prevention of distractions.
5. Don’t leave the Soul-winner alone if an unsafe or inappropriate situation will result.
6. Pray that salvation will come.
